  Chapter 1

  Alessia

I’ve waited all week to let loose, and it’s finally here. Excitement spreads with every sip of beer from my red plastic cup. So ready to be free and connect with the real world after a long week of work. Beers are being passed around, followed by a bottle of tequila. Placing the bottle to my lips, I tilt my head back and take a shot. The burn is then washed away with the cold beer in my hand from the keg. The bonfire warms my skin from the cool late-night air in the hills outside Sacramento.

Around the fire stands familiar faces of the past and a few new. I grew up in a motorcycle club. My old man has been the Club President of the Battle Born MC since I was born. I love this life and being a part of this family. Each day is an adventure. There have been hard times, but we party harder and make up for it later. I have big dreams to make happen in life, but tonight, we’ll party until the sun comes up over the horizon. Taking another drink, the cool liquid slides down my throat. Strong hands glide over my thighs to just under the hem of my barely-there shorts.

“Alessia, we talked about this shit. After my ring was on your finger, my woman would cover up,” Hawk growls into my ear.

We have the same arguments over and over. I bite back my urge to tell him he’s dead fucking wrong. I may be his wife, but I’m not dead. For years, my father hid me away from the world. I was only allowed to meet a few select club members from the chapters. I was never allowed to go to club parties until after I was twenty-one, and Hawk was with me. My father, Fuego, was as strict as they get. Since I’ve grown up, I find every bit of happiness I can from the life I was sheltered from.

Ignoring the fight that starts to simmer in my mind, I bite back the words. Pushing back, I press my ass cheeks into his hands. I need his attention, the connection we used to have. Hawk loved the chase as much as I did. Since the first day we met, we were all over each other. Fucking like rabbits everywhere.

The reason my pops didn’t skin him alive was because Hawk went to my father and asked to date me. The Prez and Hawk had a sit-down, and he vowed to protect me. Because of that, my father relented and let us be together. My father more than likely used it to his advantage. Hawk always kept an eye on me.

The beer and the lust thrum through my veins. I need it, desperately. To relive the days of old, of the first time I laid eyes on him. The memory comes back to me in my drunken state like it was yesterday.

“Dana, who is that guy?” My elbow jabs my best friend in the ribs.

She squeaks in pain, then whips her blonde head around to see who I am talking about. He appears to be older but not by much. “Holy cow, he’s smokin’, girl. Is he the new prospect our dads are meeting with?” Dana’s old man is Ghost, the club VP. Since we were both raised in this clubhouse, we know the rules. No dating members without permission.

My gaze is lasered on the guy that struts through the room like he belongs here. The brothers in the MC can be rough to people they’ve never met. This man stares them all down. The attraction pulls me in like a magnet. Instantly, it becomes a game for me to claim him before these club whores get their claws on him. They get enough. This one belongs to me.

“C’mon, I got homework. Let’s head out,” Dana begs, always the levelheaded one. I should go with her. There is a lot to get caught up on at school. I’m not, no way.

“Nah, go ahead. I’ll catch a ride home.” I can feel the disbelief before I see it in her gaze. When I turn my head, I do find her staring at me knowingly. I can’t fight or stop the smirk from lifting.

She shakes her head before gathering her bag at her feet. “I’m getting the details tomorrow,” Dana warns, before shuffling along on her way out, yelling that she’ll pick me up in the morning.

I haven’t had my car for a while. My old man took the keys away from me after my last speeding ticket. Not to mention, all my girls were in the car. Did I mention we were on our way to being drunk?

We were all charged with a Minor in Consumption charge. Then later punished with hours of Community Service. That was the easy part. The hard part was all the drunk drivers my father made me listen to. Hearing their horrifying stories, firsthand, sobered me up quick.

This prospect is a new rush I want to experience. My new secret toy to play with that my old man, or my brother Snake, can never find out about. With that in mind, I walk out front and look through the bikes. Until I spot one I have never seen before.

Crossing my feet and arms, I rest my ass against the seat. I settle in and wait for my bait. It doesn’t take long for him to come out alone. Perfect. The smug bastard strides out with a cocky swagger and a new prospect cut. My gaze eats up his every move. Every flex of his lean muscles.

His steps falter when he notices me leaning against his bike. I see the war raging behind those intense eyes. My heart jumps in my chest. The prospect’s head slightly tilts to the side. He hasn’t decided what reaction he should have. Me, I smirk back. Pick me and lust over your anger. His pride holds him back like he has something to prove. The only thing he needs to prove is he’s a man worth the consequences of the next high in life that we will chase down together.

I decide to help him move this along. I never lose, and I’m not starting today. Swinging one leg over, I rest my booted feet on the pegs. To taunt him further, I spread my legs wide. “Take me for a ride.” I’m not asking, I’m coaxing him to what it will be. Give me the adrenaline and make me come alive. Come and play on the wild side. Use me, like I want to use you.

His eyebrows raise, and the greed for my flesh wins. Eagerly, I anticipate his response. I’ve won when his strong legs and frame relax before coming to me. Another two long strides and he’s standing right in front of me. “What’s your name?” His lip tucks in between his teeth before rolling the plump flesh out.

I’m not sure if the Prez has relayed to him the rules, or who everyone is yet. So, I go with my nickname. “Alex. Yours?” I raise a brow back at him. Greedily, I devour his trim body up close. Short, light brown hair, and tan skin my fingers are begging to touch every inch of. Damn the consequences.

“It’s Derrick.” His eyes rake all over my body, soaking in the view. His perusal stops, and his focus is glued to my tits. Due to the Hispanic genes from my father’s side, I have a big rack. Occasionally, or when I can, I use it to my advantage when the need arises. The girls work on most guys, not the local cops, though because of my family.

“Watcha waiting for? The fun is on the road.” I scoot back farther, and he slides on, chuckling. Moving in close, I rasp in his ear as my arms wrap around his waist, holding on tight, “Take me on a ride, let’s make it a night we won’t forget.” Promises I will deliver on.

Derrick turns over his bike, and we hit the road, finding bars I never knew existed in Sacramento. Half-drunk on lust and alcohol, I lost my virginity to him in a crowded bathroom bar somewhere downtown. It hurt like hell, but I was drunk, and he took me from behind.

I snap out of it when his grip spins me around, and I come face-to-face with a pissed off biker, my husband. Smashing my lips into his, I try my damndest to hold on to those old feelings. Putting all I got into this kiss, I bite his lip and hold on to his face before I wrap my tongue around his. Swallowing my pride, I expose it all, the need and desire to have him.

I don’t want to hear him complain, not tonight. We need to be the carefree people we once were. It seems all we do now is fight. A crater of doubt has separated us after years of marriage. Using his rage to fuel the passion I miss, I tug on his cut, hard. His fingers dig into my ass, and I moan into his mouth.

His teeth dig into my bottom lip before he rips them away from me. The excitement sparks and our desire has been found. His cock starts to harden between us. My hand runs over his jeans and I squeeze. “I want you,” I rasp into the dark. “Fuck me dirty and hard, Derrick.”

He quickly bends over, wrapping his arms around my thighs. Easily he stands, hauling me over his shoulder. Drunk, and upside down, I spill my beer before I lose my grip entirely. The cup is lost, and liquid paints the concrete. Hawk carries me away into the darkness over to the trucks and bikes. He pops open the door of his truck and tosses me onto the backseat. Within seconds, my shorts are off, and Hawk’s face dives into my pussy. He licks me like a starving man. Every part of my body is begging for more. More love and passion. My hips grind, chasing the dream. Every stroke of his tongue charges my body, making me arch my back.

The vibration of his moan sends me over the edge. The muscles tighten, and I lose my breath when my orgasm hits. Hawk patiently caresses me with his fingers until the very last contraction. He unbuckles his belt. Pushing his pants down just enough to release his rock-hard cock. Hawk climbs up, and I scoot back just enough as he glides inside me. Pumping and grinding, we fuck like the lovers we used to be. There is hope in our connection. I can find us again.

It’s there, it has to be.

  Chapter 2

  Hawk

My stomach grumbles and I yawn, cruising down the freeway, heading to the clubhouse. Fuego, my club Prez and father-in-law, has called us into church. Last night was exactly what I needed. At first, I was fucking pissed off to find Alessia at the club party without me. She did text me to meet her there, but my temper came to the surface, seeing the smile on her face and those fucking shorts.

Alessia doesn’t need me. She has the club. Plenty of the brothers would take her from me. I hate it. Alessia is always off finding shit to get into. I never know what to expect next. Except that’s a lie. In my head, I believed she could be with another guy last night, even though I’m the only man that she has ever slept with. One day, she’ll leave me for good. Alessia has this fire inside. Eventually, it will ignite, and I’ll be left behind. I see it. My woman holds herself back and is ambitious. I doubt Alessia is still satisfied with me.

Alessia grew up here. Fuck, she’s more a part of the club than most of the men. She lives for this shit. I should be a grateful bastard. I have the hottest bitch, and she loves the club. I smile, though, thinking about the time when we met. Both of us were still in high school, and it was hot as fuck. She had a wild side then and still has it to this day.

I was a bad boy that was held back a year from graduating. My mom was at a loss with what the hell to do with me. She sent me to live with my uncle, thinking I would listen to him and not get into as much trouble. I was nineteen, but a senior in school still.

Those were the days. The older I get, the more our relationship has changed between us. I start to wonder if she loves me like I do her, if we are just different people now, but I can’t let her go. Last night, it showed me we still have a hot as fuck connection. Alessia fucked me all night long before we both passed out at home. I didn’t want to leave her alone in bed. I could have stayed curled up next to her all day. Then fucked her again all night. But, here I am, handling my shit. The Prez called us in early for church. On my way out, I gave her a kiss, then hit the road.

Church is the same old B.S. it usually is. We give our updates on our runs. The Prez is happy with our haul and sales of the last week. I’m about to leave when he grabs my attention and asks me to stay a minute. “What’s up?”

“I got a call from Jenn. Her little sister, Ashley, has a flat. After graduating college, she is coming home. Can you take your truck and trailer to haul her back?” Fuego requests. As much as I wish I could tell him no, I can’t. He’s the Prez, and Jenn is one of my woman’s best friends.

“Yeah.” I release a long breath. “Let me grab some food and coffee, then I’ll head out.” Pulling oxygen back into my lungs, I’m resigned to my fate. To go pick up this prissy girl and bring her into town. “I thought her sister and aunt hated us. You sure about this?”

Fuego smirks, “Their tía put a bunch of shit in her head when she was una niña, a little girl. Prove her wrong, sí?” He slaps me on the back and beats me out of the room. Following him, we find a line of men in the kitchen. The Prez’s mom flips tortillas on a cast iron griddle before spooning a brother’s plate with chorizo, eggs, and beans. Abuela shoos him along and motions for the next. Fuego, though, walks to the front of the line, and his mother stacks his plate high. “Gracias, Momma.” He places a quick kiss on top of the short woman’s head.

I wait my turn and watch the plates fill, and guys stick fives and tens in her mug by the stove, a tradition was started a long time ago. Even though Fuego pays her a salary to clean and take care of the place, we all tip her for the extra stuff she does. Like watching over the MC when we aren’t around. She’s the eyes and ears. If you fuck up, she’s the first to tell you and set it straight.

“Mijo, here is tu plato. Where is mi Alessia?” She questions and hands me the plate.

“She’s sleeping in.” I can’t help the grin that gives away why.

“Cochino,” Abuela scolds but smiles. “Mijo, you need to use a firm hand with her. Alessia gets away with too much.” She clucks at me and gives me her disapproving glare.

“You would think after six years of marriage, she would listen to me, but she hasn’t.” Shrugging my shoulders, I let it go. Alessia does what she wants, when she wants. There is no
dousing that fire.

“Don’t, mijo. Be a man, and bring her some balance. Use those hands for other things . . .”

“Ma!” Fuego blurts, “Que acabas de decir? What in the fuck are you saying those things for? Es mi niña!” His scowl doing nothing to intimidate her. Instead, she plops food onto a plate and thrusts it with one hand while the other jabs at his face.

“She is my granddaughter, and someone needs to watch out for her,” she adamantly defends.

Their bickering gets louder in Spanish, and I’m lost at that point of what they are arguing over or saying. Now the spoon is pointed at me, and Fuego shakes his head at his mother. He steals a few tortillas off the griddle and walks away to have a seat with everyone. The scene is so normal, not a man is fazed. Fuego starts up a conversation with the table while she is still ranting at the stove.

Full of food and coffee, I’m on the road and heading north toward Chico, California. The drive wasn’t too congested, so I arrived a little earlier than expected. I haven’t seen Ashley for years, so I’m not sure what I expect to find when I pull up at the gas station on the side of the road. But, the hot college girl, next to a little red Honda, I did not.

Ashley’s brown hair flows in the wind, and her tank top is pressed into her chest. I fight back my thoughts and remind myself who I am and who I am married to.

After I park the truck, I get out and walk around. She straightens and brushes her hair away from her face. Reaching out, I offer her my hand, “I’m Hawk. Your sister called and said you needed help.”

Casting a sly glance, she looks at the door the customer just came out from, then back to me. She shakes my hand, “I’m—uh, Ashley. We met at your wedding, six years ago.” Her fingers brush over mine when she releases my hand.
